With Easter just a few weeks away, I've got all things bright, soft and beautiful on my mind. So for this Easter family style edit, I've put together a few fresh, happy outfit inspiration palettes for you in the vein of what I'm feeling for my own family this year. These outfit collections will work beautifully for spring family portraits, Easter morning church service, Easter brunch, and beyond. The style of both palettes prioritizes pieces that are fresh, soft, light, and approachable.
While I've taken a more buttoned-up approach to our family's outfits on previous years, I'm definitely leaning more toward the more organic, bohemian/beachy side of spring fashion this year. I've selected all the pieces in this post from a few pf the brands and designers that I personally love for their high quality, excellent design, and attention to detail. I've also pulled in some example shoe styles from excellent designers to coordinate with the children's pieces.
You'll notice I haven't included dad in the outfit showcases below. This is because, in my experience, it works best to plan everyone else's wardrobe first, and then fill in dad's outfit with basic solids as the last step. Many guys who work in corporate or office settings will have the basic pieces to complete the family ensemble among their work clothing already. I have included suggestions for coordinating dad with each palette as well.

the sunrise by the sea collection
cool, fresh, breezy and bohemian
This monochromatic collection feels classy and put-together, while the beachy, bohemian vibe of the textured fabrics and eclectic pattern mixing keeps the overall mood lighthearted and approachable.
For baby, skip the blue vest that's included with the herringbone set pictured, and stick with polo + shorts instead to maintain the casual flow of these outfits.
Pattern mixing works here because we are working with only one color, and because we have multiple solid pieces to balance the patterns. For smaller family groupings, be sure to drop a pattern from what is shown, not a solid.
Be prepared for a chilly Easter morning or sunrise photoshoot with solid-colored cardigans and sweaters in the top two shades on this color palette– white and bone. Texture is king when it comes to choosing layers! Look for chunky knit pieces and oversized open cardigans.
For sons, consider stacking a solid white or blue polo over the dress shirt; a patterned dress collar peeking out just under a solid polo collar is very cute!
For Dad – combine oyster or bone khakis and a white or light blue dress shirt.

the cottage garden collection
soft, romantic and shabby chic
In this palette, richly organic, grounded textures and a rainbow of muted pastels create a wardrobe that feels sweet, whimsical, and softly romantic.
We're bending the traditional rule of wardrobe coordination about avoiding multiple patterns here, because just a touch of kitsch is needed to create the shabby chic, slow-living feel that we're aiming for with this collection.
The important difference between busy and charming here is that we used soft colors, and balanced the multiple patterns with plenty of coordinating solids to keep the collection from feeling overwhelming.
For dad, add in a cream or pink dress shirt in cotton or linen, and khakis that coordinate with the son's outfit.
Leather sandals and loafers in soft natural browns and whites will provide some gentle contrast without overwhelming the soft hues of this collection; stick with solid off-white tights and socks for the kiddos.

A few high quality accessories are the perfect touch to finish off those Easter outfits! When it comes to socks and stockings for a group, you're nearly always best to stick with white or cream; that unifying white element balances out everything else that's going on with patterns and colors.
